Save placement ?

Postby Fred le gaucher » Tue Jan 24, 2017 8:47 am

Hello,

Is there in UB2 any feature like the "save placement" of UB1 ?
I couldn't find it while testing UB2.
IMO, it's quite useful (I love to be prepared in advance ;) ).

Yes it's the save button in the bottom bar.
That one technically saves everything, so make sure to not save also Map scenics or your opponent models otherwise those will also be loaded.
The Load is Additive, so this means you can actually load a Map and then you can load your placements later if you want, or viceversa (also the load map is additive).

Great. :)
I presumed that the Load wasn't additive, as you said. So I did'nt even bothered to try it.

Yea I am planning to create a guide and where possible if I see the UX is not "friendly" I'll try to add some tooltips to make it easier to understand.
I know there is some hidden feature that are tough to find :)

hi guys

a question related to this point:
would it be possible to increase the number of slots for saving your armies?
i'd like to have a couple for each of the few armies i play, plus some open slot for saving games which need to be interrupted.
4 is really not enough in this case.
there should be no space problem for saving these files on server, but in case it's necessary, i'd be open to saving these files on my disk (as in UB1)

thanks as always @Lorenzo

Yea I can definitely increase the saving slots, do you think 10 should be enough?

that's great to hear.
personally, i play the 9th age, and i wanted to have an army ready (with all its tokens) for each race. this means at least 16 slots.
plus, i might occasionally have a game interrupted and need to save it. so 20 would be a good minimum for me.
30 would be swell, but i don't want to sound too greedy : D but yeah, 30 would put my mind at ease, if that's doable.
thanks as always,
f
